Beatriz received her M.A in Medical and Biological Illustration in 2010 from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, thanks to a life-changing Fulbright scholarship. After graduation, she worked as medical-legal illustrator in Dallas (TX, US) and as graphic artist and communications officer at Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm, Sweden). In 2014, she became a board certified medical illustrator (CMI). A year later, she attended animation school thanks to the Swedish Board of Student Finance (CSN). She currently works as a character animator and visual storyteller in Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada). Bea loves sketching from life, learning, observing, and crafting entertaining, inspiring and educational stories, merging art with science in both digital and traditional media. She is also a theater improviser and urban sketcher. And ex-parrot… I mean, ex-physician.
